Alongside my learning and teaching of the Alexander Technique has been a 35 year practice of the martial art of Aikido.

That Aikido should have turned out to be such an aligned enquiry as the Alexander Technique’s into poise, ‘listening’, and learning how to respond in ‘this particular moment’, has been a wonderful synchronicity for me.

More recently I have begun to explore the chi-gong form called Shibashi.

Shibashi is an 18 move ‘form’ - all that is required is the ability to put one leg in front of the other! As such I treat it as an ideal vehicle for anybody to practice the kind of embodied attention that I have explored in both Alexander Technique and Aikido. My experience of both disciplines informs and guides my practice of Shibashi.

I teach two forms of Shibashi in group classes of up to 12 people. If you are interested to join a class then please use my booking form to make contact and I will get back to you about locations, times, and cost of current classes.
